I highly recommend having a bedroom setup available the day you move in. As someone who spent a few nights after a move sleeping on an uncomfortable living room couch, I just have to say that there is nothing you will appreciate more than falling into your old mattress your first night in an unfamiliar place! Especially if you are feeling a little homesick. Bringing blankets, pillows, and sheets from the previous home help combat homesickness as well!
